Data-backed guide
Best day of the week at each Disney World park, from posted-wait data
Posted waits by weekday at all four Walt Disney World parks, June to October 2026. Wednesday averaged lowest at three parks, Friday highest at Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT's median never moved.
In WaitScout's posted-wait data from 2026-06-02 to 2026-10-19, Wednesday had the lowest average posted wait at EPCOT (tied with Sunday), Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. Friday had the lowest at Magic Kingdom, and the highest at Hollywood Studios. The gaps between weekdays are small, so use them to break a tie, not to plan a trip around.
These are posted waits, not measured standing time, and they cover summer and early autumn only. The tables below give every weekday at every park, and the Methodology section lists exactly how they were built.
What is the best day of the week to go to Disney World?
There is no one best day across the four parks. The lowest average posted wait fell on a different day at different parks:
| Park | Lowest average (day) | Highest average (day) |
|---|---|---|
| Magic Kingdom | 19.7 min (Friday), 19.8 min (Sunday) | 24.7 min (Wednesday) |
| EPCOT | 22.6 min (Wednesday and Sunday) | 26.2 min (Monday) |
| Hollywood Studios | 31.9 min (Wednesday) | 36.8 min (Friday) |
| Animal Kingdom | 25.3 min (Wednesday) | 33.4 min (Saturday) |
Notice that Wednesday is the lowest day at three parks and the highest at Magic Kingdom. That is why a single "best day" rule fails. Choose the day park by park.
What are the posted wait times at each park by day of the week?
Each cell shows the median and the average posted wait, in minutes, across all rides and hours for that weekday. Each weekday has 19 to 20 calendar days of data per park.
| Day | Magic Kingdom | EPCOT | Hollywood Studios | Animal Kingdom |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Monday | 20 / 23.0 | 15 / 26.2 | 30 / 33.0 | 30 / 32.6 |
| Tuesday | 15 / 20.7 | 15 / 23.5 | 35 / 34.2 | 25 / 28.4 |
| Wednesday | 20 / 24.7 | 15 / 22.6 | 30 / 31.9 | 20 / 25.3 |
| Thursday | 15 / 21.5 | 15 / 23.7 | 30 / 33.1 | 25 / 26.9 |
| Friday | 15 / 19.7 | 15 / 25.2 | 35 / 36.8 | 30 / 32.7 |
| Saturday | 20 / 22.9 | 15 / 25.5 | 35 / 34.5 | 30 / 33.4 |
| Sunday | 15 / 19.8 | 15 / 22.6 | 30 / 32.0 | 30 / 31.3 |
Posted waits come in 5-minute steps, so medians tie often. That is why EPCOT's median reads 15 every day while its average moves between 22.6 and 26.2.
Which day is best at Magic Kingdom?
Magic Kingdom's median was 15 minutes on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, and 20 minutes on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. The averages agree on the low end: Friday (19.7) and Sunday (19.8) were lowest, and Wednesday (24.7) was highest.
Saturday had the most posted waits of any weekday at Magic Kingdom (48,773), and Tuesday the fewest (36,852). Volume of posted waits is not a headcount, so we do not read it as crowd size.
Plan your hours as well as your day. Magic Kingdom wait times by hour shows how much more the hour moves the number than the weekday does: the hourly median ran from 5 to 20 minutes in the same window.
Which day is best at EPCOT?
EPCOT is the flattest park in this data. The median posted wait was 15 minutes on all seven days. The average was lowest on Wednesday and Sunday (22.6) and highest on Monday (26.2).
If you are choosing between two EPCOT days, the weekday is a weak reason to prefer one. Look at the hour instead: EPCOT's median hour ran at 15 minutes from 1pm to 7pm. Use the EPCOT crowd calendar to compare specific dates.
Which day is best at Hollywood Studios?
Hollywood Studios had the highest average posted wait of the four parks on every weekday. Its median was 30 minutes on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, and 35 minutes on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. Its average ranged from 31.9 minutes on Wednesday to 36.8 minutes on Friday.
For context on the ride side, Slinky Dog Dash had an overall median of 60 minutes in the window, and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance had a median of 45 minutes. Both are in this park. If you can pick the day, Wednesday is the one the data leans toward. Then follow the live list on Hollywood Studios wait times.
Which day is best at Animal Kingdom?
Animal Kingdom's median was 20 minutes on Wednesday, 25 on Tuesday and Thursday, and 30 on Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Wednesday's average (25.3) was the lowest and Saturday's (33.4) the highest.
Animal Kingdom gives the clearest weekday split in this data: midweek ran lower than the weekend and Monday. With 19 to 20 days per weekday, though, a single unusual day can move an average, so treat it as a lean.
Should you plan a whole trip around the day of the week?
No. The weekday effect here is smaller than the hour effect at every park, and it comes from 19 to 20 days of each weekday. Our data has no winter, spring or holiday weeks, so these numbers say nothing about those periods.
A separate, stricter analysis of the same question is in does day of the week matter at Disney World. For a day-specific view, check the crowd calendar and the Lightning Lane page for the park you choose.
When you pick a day, the live waits on that day still decide the plan. The WaitScout iPhone app can alert you when a ride's posted wait drops, which a table of weekday averages cannot do. See the app features.
FAQ
What is the least crowded day at Disney World?
This data measures posted waits, not crowds. Wednesday had the lowest average posted wait at EPCOT (tied with Sunday), Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. Friday and Sunday were lowest at Magic Kingdom.
Is Friday a bad day at Hollywood Studios?
Friday had the highest average posted wait there (36.8 minutes), and a median of 35 minutes. Tuesday and Saturday shared that median.
Does the weekday matter more than the time of day?
In this data, no. Magic Kingdom's hourly median ran from 5 to 20 minutes, while its weekday medians were only 15 or 20.
How many days of data is each weekday based on?
Each weekday has 19 or 20 calendar days per park, from 2026-06-02 to 2026-10-19.
Do these results hold for winter or holiday weeks?
We cannot say. Our history does not include them.
Methodology
<!-- claims:exempt -->Every figure comes from WaitScout's wait_history table for Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom, from 2026-06-02 to 2026-10-19 (140 local days). Times are converted to America/New_York and grouped by local calendar date and ISO weekday. Only rows with a posted wait are used. Each cell pools every ride and every hour that posted a wait that day. Median is the exact median of posted minutes; average is the arithmetic mean. Posted minutes come in 5-minute steps, so medians tie often and averages are the finer measure. Each weekday has 19 to 20 calendar days per park. Posted waits include character meet-and-greets, shows and films in these park-level figures; ride rankings elsewhere in this guide exclude them. We did not cut weekdays by individual ride or by month because the samples would be too thin. There is no winter, spring or holiday data.
