Data-backed guide
Short-wait rides at each Disney World park
Rides with the lowest median posted wait at each Walt Disney World park, June to October 2026. Use them when the headline lines are long.
In WaitScout's posted-wait data from 2026-06-04 to 2026-10-19, Star Tours at Hollywood Studios had a median posted wait of 5 minutes. At EPCOT, The Seas with Nemo & Friends and Journey Into Imagination With Figment matched it. At Magic Kingdom, Mad Tea Party, Dumbo the Flying Elephant and Prince Charming Regal Carrousel did the same.
Animal Kingdom is the exception: its shortest median was 20 minutes. The tables below list the lowest-median rides at each park, rides only, with the sample behind each number. Posted waits are the numbers on the sign, not measured standing time, and the data covers summer and early autumn only.
Which Disney World rides have the shortest waits?
Six rides had a median posted wait of 5 minutes. They are spread across three parks:
| Ride | Park | Median posted wait (min) | Average (min) | Posted waits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Star Tours - The Adventures Continue | Hollywood Studios | 5 | 6.8 | 16,594 |
| The Seas with Nemo & Friends | EPCOT | 5 | 11.4 | 15,337 |
| Journey Into Imagination With Figment | EPCOT | 5 | 9.2 | 14,056 |
| Dumbo the Flying Elephant | Magic Kingdom | 5 | 10.9 | 15,773 |
| Mad Tea Party | Magic Kingdom | 5 | 8.7 | 12,568 |
| Prince Charming Regal Carrousel | Magic Kingdom | 5 | 7.0 | 2,347 |
Star Tours also had the lowest average of any ride, 6.8 minutes. Prince Charming Regal Carrousel has the smallest sample here, 2,347 posted waits, which is still well above the 1,000 we use as a floor.
A low median does not mean a low wait all day. Dumbo the Flying Elephant had a median of 5 but an average of 10.9 minutes and a highest posted wait of 60. The ride has slow stretches.
Which Magic Kingdom rides have short waits?
Magic Kingdom has the most rides in the data and the longest list of short ones. Five more of its rides had a median of 10 minutes, beside the three at 5.
| Ride | Median (min) | Average (min) | Highest posted (min) | Posted waits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mad Tea Party | 5 | 8.7 | 35 | 12,568 |
| Prince Charming Regal Carrousel | 5 | 7.0 | 25 | 2,347 |
| Dumbo the Flying Elephant | 5 | 10.9 | 60 | 15,773 |
| The Magic Carpets of Aladdin | 10 | 10.4 | 45 | 10,525 |
| The Barnstormer | 10 | 12.0 | 60 | 14,721 |
| "it's a small world" | 10 | 11.8 | 55 | 16,890 |
| Under the Sea - Journey of The Little Mermaid | 10 | 13.2 | 60 | 16,300 |
| Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover | 10 | 11.0 | 60 | 2,394 |
Compare that with the top of the park, where TRON Lightcycle / Run had a median of 55. If a headline line is long, a short-median ride nearby fills the gap. Check the Magic Kingdom wait times by hour guide to see which hours move the whole park, and the best time for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train if you want the long line at its quietest.
Which EPCOT rides have short waits?
EPCOT has the lowest park-wide median of the four parks, 15 minutes, and a shelf of rides at 10 or below.
| Ride | Median (min) | Average (min) | Highest posted (min) | Posted waits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Seas with Nemo & Friends | 5 | 11.4 | 70 | 15,337 |
| Journey Into Imagination With Figment | 5 | 9.2 | 45 | 14,056 |
| Spaceship Earth | 10 | 13.6 | 50 | 14,030 |
| Living with the Land | 10 | 12.7 | 55 | 15,142 |
| Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros | 10 | 8.8 | 35 | 1,456 |
Gran Fiesta Tour has the lowest sample on this page, 1,456 posted waits, so its numbers are less firm than the others. It is above our 1,000 floor, but treat it as a direction. Mission: SPACE had a median of 15 and sits just above this group. Soarin' Across America, at 30, is a mid-length line by comparison.
Which Hollywood Studios rides have short waits?
Star Tours - The Adventures Continue is the clear case. Its median of 5 minutes is 20 minutes below the next-lowest ride at the park.
| Ride | Median (min) | Average (min) | Highest posted (min) | Posted waits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Star Tours - The Adventures Continue | 5 | 6.8 | 55 | 16,594 |
| Alien Swirling Saucers | 25 | 25.4 | 115 | 14,573 |
| Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run | 30 | 30.1 | 115 | 15,816 |
| The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror | 35 | 35.9 | 140 | 11,790 |
Hollywood Studios has a park-wide median of 35 minutes, so a ride at 5 stands out. For the hours when the park runs highest, read Hollywood Studios wait times by hour.
Which Animal Kingdom rides have short waits?
None of Animal Kingdom's rides had a median under 20 minutes.
| Ride | Median (min) | Average (min) | Highest posted (min) | Posted waits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kilimanjaro Safaris | 20 | 27.2 | 120 | 12,901 |
| Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain | 25 | 24.3 | 100 | 12,787 |
| Kali River Rapids | 30 | 29.0 | 120 | 9,827 |
If you want a short line at Animal Kingdom, the hour matters more than the ride choice. The Animal Kingdom wait times by hour guide shows the pattern.
How should I use short-wait rides?
Three habits fit the data.
- Fill gaps. When the long line you want is posting a high number, ride a short-median attraction and come back.
- Check the live number first. A ride with a median of 5 can still post 60 on a busy day. Open live EPCOT waits or the park you are in.
- Set an alert on the long-line ride. Our wait-time alerts guide explains what to set so that the app, not you, watches the number.

Methodology
<!-- claims:exempt -->Every figure comes from WaitScout's wait_history table joined to attractions, from 2026-06-04 to 2026-10-19 (138 local days), converted to America/New_York. Only rows with a posted wait are used. A ride is an attraction with entity type ATTRACTION and attraction type ride; meets, shows, films, walkthroughs and transportation are excluded. Medians are exact medians of posted minutes, rounded to the nearest minute, and posted minutes come in 5-minute steps. Every ride listed has at least 1,000 posted waits. The query is recorded in docs/content/claims-dis362-short-wait-rides.md. These are posted waits, not measured standing time. There is no winter, spring or holiday data.
