Data-backed guide
Which Disney World rides have the longest waits?
Top rides by median posted wait at each Walt Disney World park, June to October 2026. A table per park, rides only, with sample sizes.
In WaitScout's posted-wait data from 2026-06-04 to 2026-10-19, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT had the highest median posted wait of any ride, at 70 minutes. Test Track followed at 65 minutes, and Slinky Dog Dash at Hollywood Studios at 60.
The tables below rank rides at each of the four Walt Disney World theme parks by median posted wait. Character meets, shows and films are excluded, so this is a list of rides and nothing else. Posted waits are the numbers on the sign, not measured standing time, and the data covers summer and early autumn only.
Which Disney World ride has the longest wait?
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Its median was 70 minutes, its average 72.4 minutes, and its highest posted wait 195 minutes, from 7,213 posted waits across 138 days. No other ride had a median above 65 minutes.
Across the four parks, the ten rides with the highest medians were:
| Rank | Ride | Park | Median posted wait (min) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind | EPCOT | 70 |
| 2 | Test Track | EPCOT | 65 |
| 3 | Slinky Dog Dash | Hollywood Studios | 60 |
| 4 | TRON Lightcycle / Run | Magic Kingdom | 55 |
| 5 | Avatar Flight of Passage | Animal Kingdom | 50 |
| 6 | Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets | Hollywood Studios | 50 |
| 7 | Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance | Hollywood Studios | 45 |
| 8 | Seven Dwarfs Mine Train | Magic Kingdom | 45 |
| 9 | Frozen Ever After | EPCOT | 45 |
| 10 | Remy's Ratatouille Adventure | EPCOT | 40 |
Medians tie often, because posted waits move in 5-minute steps. Ranks 5 and 6 share a median, as do ranks 7 to 9. Ranks 10 to 12 (Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway and Toy Story Mania!) share 40 minutes, so the order inside a tie is not a ranking and carries little weight.
Which Magic Kingdom rides have the longest waits?
TRON Lightcycle / Run led at a median of 55 minutes. Magic Kingdom has the most rides of any park in the data, 21, and its median runs from 55 down to 5.
| Ride | Median (min) | Average (min) | Highest posted (min) | Posted waits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TRON Lightcycle / Run | 55 | 57.1 | 160 | 8,631 |
| Seven Dwarfs Mine Train | 45 | 44.2 | 95 | 10,821 |
| Peter Pan's Flight | 40 | 38.3 | 80 | 12,056 |
| Jungle Cruise | 35 | 31.4 | 85 | 13,405 |
| Tiana's Bayou Adventure | 35 | 34.1 | 160 | 11,014 |
| Space Mountain | 30 | 31.7 | 175 | 14,910 |
Tiana's Bayou Adventure and Space Mountain both reached posted waits above 150 minutes at some point, even though their medians were 35 and 30. A ride's worst moment can sit far above its typical wait. For ride-specific advice, see the best time to ride TRON Lightcycle / Run and the best time for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
Which EPCOT rides have the longest waits?
EPCOT holds two of the three highest medians in the whole data set.
| Ride | Median (min) | Average (min) | Highest posted (min) | Posted waits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind | 70 | 72.4 | 195 | 7,213 |
| Test Track | 65 | 63.8 | 140 | 4,953 |
| Frozen Ever After | 45 | 46.5 | 115 | 6,847 |
| Remy's Ratatouille Adventure | 40 | 43.1 | 130 | 7,019 |
| Soarin' Across America | 30 | 29.2 | 135 | 16,164 |
Test Track has the smallest sample among these five, at 4,953 posted waits, which is still thousands of readings across 138 days. See the Cosmic Rewind guide and the Test Track guide for the hour-by-hour view.
Which Hollywood Studios rides have the longest waits?
Hollywood Studios has the highest park-wide average of the four parks, and its ride list shows why: five of its nine rides have a median of 40 minutes or more.
| Ride | Median (min) | Average (min) | Highest posted (min) | Posted waits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Slinky Dog Dash | 60 | 63.6 | 160 | 6,451 |
| Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets | 50 | 53.7 | 165 | 10,779 |
| Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance | 45 | 46.8 | 220 | 11,838 |
| Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway | 40 | 39.6 | 90 | 12,637 |
| Toy Story Mania! | 40 | 38.6 | 125 | 11,787 |
Rise of the Resistance had the single highest posted wait of any ride in the data, 220 minutes, even though its median was 45. Slinky Dog Dash had 135 days of data, three fewer than the other Hollywood Studios rides. Read more in the Slinky Dog Dash guide and the Rise of the Resistance guide.
Which Animal Kingdom rides have the longest waits?
Animal Kingdom has five rides in the data, and one stands apart.
| Ride | Median (min) | Average (min) | Highest posted (min) | Posted waits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Avatar Flight of Passage | 50 | 51.9 | 180 | 13,091 |
| Na'vi River Journey | 35 | 35.5 | 90 | 12,346 |
| Kali River Rapids | 30 | 29.0 | 120 | 9,827 |
| Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain | 25 | 24.3 | 100 | 12,787 |
| Kilimanjaro Safaris | 20 | 27.2 | 120 | 12,901 |
Kilimanjaro Safaris shows how a median can hide the shape of a day: its median was 20 minutes and its average 27.2 minutes, so its longer waits pulled the average up. See the Flight of Passage guide for the hour-by-hour pattern.
What should I do with a long-wait ride?
The ranking says which lines run long. It does not say when to join them. Three things help.
- Look at the hour. At most parks the posted wait moves through the day, and the hour-by-hour guides show where.
- Look at the rope-drop gap. Some top-ranked rides stayed long in the opening hour, which the rope drop guide lays out ride by ride.
- Watch the live number on Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom, and set an alert for when it drops.
If the longest lines are not worth your time, the short-wait rides guide covers the other end of the list.
Frequently asked questions
What is the longest wait ever posted at Disney World?
In this data, 220 minutes, posted for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. That is a single reading, not a typical wait.
Are these the real wait times?
They are posted waits, the numbers shown on the sign and in the park feed. They are not measured standing time.
Do character meets count in this ranking?
No. Meets, shows and films are excluded because they are not rides.
Will the ranking be the same in winter or at Christmas?
We do not know. The data covers 2026-06-04 to 2026-10-19 and nothing from winter, spring or holiday weeks.
Where can I see the whole ride list?
Open the live wait pages for each park linked above. They list every ride with its current posted wait.
Methodology
<!-- claims:exempt -->Every figure comes from WaitScout's wait_history table joined to attractions, from 2026-06-04 to 2026-10-19 (138 local days), converted to America/New_York. Only rows with a posted wait are used. A ride is an attraction with entity type ATTRACTION and attraction type ride; meets, shows, films, walkthroughs and transportation are excluded. Medians are exact medians of posted minutes, rounded to the nearest minute, and posted minutes come in 5-minute steps. Every ride listed has at least 1,000 posted waits. The query is recorded in docs/content/claims-dis362-longest-waits.md. These are posted waits, not measured standing time. There is no winter, spring or holiday data.
