EPCOT wait times by hour: what 140 days of posted waits show
EPCOT's median posted wait was 25 minutes at 11am and 15 minutes from 1pm to 7pm in WaitScout's data from 2026-06-02 to 2026-10-19. Hourly table and ride examples.
At EPCOT, the median posted wait peaked at 25 minutes at 11am, then settled at 15 minutes in every hour from 1pm to 7pm. That is the pattern in WaitScout's own polling from 2026-06-02 to 2026-10-19.
These are posted waits, not measured standing time. This guide gives the full hour-by-hour table, shows why the park-wide number hides the long lines at EPCOT's biggest rides, and ends with how to use the hours on a trip. The Methodology section explains every figure.
What are EPCOT's posted wait times by hour?
The table lists each local hour from 8am to 8pm, with the median and the mean of every posted wait recorded in that hour across the whole window. Medians move in 5-minute steps, so a difference of one step between two hours is weak evidence.
| Hour | Median posted wait (minutes) | Mean (minutes) | Posted waits |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8am | 15 | 24.7 | 3,729 |
| 9am | 15 | 24.4 | 11,533 |
| 10am | 20 | 27.4 | 11,899 |
| 11am | 25 | 29.7 | 11,124 |
| 12pm | 20 | 27.7 | 10,830 |
| 1pm | 15 | 25.4 | 10,582 |
| 2pm | 15 | 23.7 | 10,274 |
| 3pm | 15 | 23.6 | 10,306 |
| 4pm | 15 | 22.7 | 10,149 |
| 5pm | 15 | 21.5 | 10,132 |
| 6pm | 15 | 20.6 | 10,267 |
| 7pm | 15 | 19.3 | 10,226 |
| 8pm | 15 | 20.3 | 6,765 |
The 9pm hour is left out because it has only 649 posted waits, on 61 days. Hours before 8am are omitted from the pack as too thin.
What is the shortest-wait time of day at EPCOT?
The lowest hourly median was 15 minutes, and it appeared in two stretches: the 8am and 9am hours, and every hour from 1pm to 8pm. Those are the hours to plan queues around, with the late-afternoon stretch the longer one.
The morning figure needs a caution. The mean for the 8am hour was 24.7 minutes against a median of 15, so a few long lines pull the average up even when the typical posted wait is short. The early sample is also the thinnest in the table, at 3,729 posted waits.
The afternoon is steadier. Once the lunchtime peak passes, the typical posted wait stays flat for hours, which gives you a wide window rather than a single minute to hit.
When are EPCOT waits the longest?
The highest hourly median was 25 minutes, at 11am, with 20 minutes at 10am and 20 at noon.
The mean points the same way. It reached 29.7 minutes at 11am, the highest of any hour in the table, and fell to 19.3 minutes by 7pm.
So the busy window runs from about 10am to noon, with 11am at its centre. If you can only choose one stretch to avoid for the big queues, choose that one.
Why does the park-wide median hide EPCOT's longest lines?
A park-wide median mixes rides that rarely post more than a few minutes with rides that post an hour or more. EPCOT's top-ranked ride by overall median, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, had a median of 70 minutes. Spaceship Earth and Living with the Land each had 10.
The table shows eight rides. For each, it gives the overall median, the hour whose median was lowest and the hour whose median was highest. Hour-level medians on posted data often tie, and a tie goes to the earlier hour, so read each hour as the centre of a window of an hour or two. Shows, meet-and-greets and films are left out.
| Ride | Overall median | Lowest-median hour (median) | Highest-median hour (median) | Posted waits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind | 70 | 8am (60) | 8pm (85) | 7,194 |
| Test Track | 65 | 8am (40) | 11am (70) | 4,934 |
| Frozen Ever After | 45 | 8am (25) | 5pm (57.5) | 6,828 |
| Remy's Ratatouille Adventure | 40 | 9am (35) | 3pm (55) | 7,004 |
| Soarin' Across America | 30 | 8am (5) | 11am (35) | 16,110 |
| Mission: SPACE | 15 | 8am (15) | 8am (15) | 13,487 |
| Living with the Land | 10 | 9am (5) | 11am (25) | 15,099 |
| Spaceship Earth | 10 | 8am (5) | 11am (25) | 13,984 |
The four rides at the top of the ranking, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Test Track, Frozen Ever After and Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, had overall medians from 40 to 70 minutes. A park-wide median of 15 minutes in the afternoon says little about those four.
The late hours are the clearest warning. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind had its highest hourly median in the 8pm hour, at 85 minutes, which is higher than any other ride's highest hourly median in the table. Its lowest was 60 minutes in the 8am hour.
Soarin' Across America is the contrast. It has the largest sample of the eight rides, at 16,110 posted waits, and its median ranged from 5 minutes in the 8am hour to 35 minutes in the 11am hour.
Mission: SPACE did not move. Its lowest and highest hourly medians were both 15 minutes. For rides like that, the time of day is not worth planning around.
For a ride-by-ride look at the first hour, see rope drop at Disney World, ride by ride. At EPCOT, Test Track had a median of 40 minutes in the opening hour and 70 minutes from 11am to 4pm.
Does the day of the week change EPCOT's hourly pattern?
Not by much, at the median. EPCOT's median posted wait was 15 minutes on each of the seven days of the week, and the mean ranged from 22.6 to 26.2 minutes. That makes the hour of the day a stronger lever at EPCOT than the day.

How can you use these hours on a trip?
- Pick the afternoon for the short queues. The flat stretch from 1pm to 8pm held a median of 15 minutes, the longest low-median run in the table.
- Keep the top rides away from late evening. If Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is on your list, check the live number before you commit, since its highest hourly median came late in the day.
- Treat 10am to noon as the crowd window. Medians were 20, 25 and 20 minutes. Spend those hours on rides that stayed short at any hour, such as Spaceship Earth or Living with the Land.

A table cannot tell you the minute a line shortens. The WaitScout iPhone app can alert you when a ride's posted wait drops, so you can move when the line does. See the app features.

Methodology
<!-- claims:exempt -->Every figure comes from WaitScout's wait_history table, from 2026-06-02 to 2026-10-19 (140 local days), converted to America/New_York. Only rows with a posted wait are used. The hourly table uses hour_of_day rows for EPCOT, pooled over the whole window; the median is the exact median of posted minutes and the mean is the arithmetic mean. Posted minutes come in 5-minute steps, which is why differences of 5 minutes are not strong evidence. The 9pm hour is omitted because it has under 700 posted waits. The ride table uses top_rides_by_median rows for EPCOT rides with at least 1,000 posted waits; for each ride the lowest and highest hourly medians are computed over local hours 8 to 21 with at least 7 days in the hour, and ties go to the earlier hour. Shows, meet-and-greets and films are excluded from ride claims. Weekday figures use day_of_week rows, about 19 to 20 days per weekday. Park opening times are not in the database. There is no winter, spring or holiday data.
